Package Water Treatment Plant

Capabilities

Mid Kent Water is developing the concept of package water treatment equipment, from the smallest unit for a single domestic property, to full scale commercial water treatment plant supplying high quality water for specialist products.

To ensure that our capabilities keep ahead of the market we have recently teamed up with world leading process plant designer Black and Veatch . Through this, and other established relationships with process suppliers we can provide a comprehensive consultancy service for specifying appropriate and state-of-the-art package process plant to meet precise water quality requirements.

At the other end of the scale, mid kent water is working closely with its recently formed sister company, Drinking Water Services, producing low cost, compact, modular water treatment equipment.

This equipment is aimed primarily at small users requiring improvements in water quality. This could include a single domestic property, an office block, or a supply for a private estate.

Since the equipment is “off-the-shelf” and modular it can provide a quick solution in a range of sizes.

Our recent experience includes water process and quality reviews for industrial processes, including specialist paper production.

These studies, carried out to the level of detail required by the customer, can review water use in detail, with recommendations for water re-use opportunities, and the most suitable water treatment facilities.

A recent commission, for a paper mill, was for a comprehensive review of both water usage on site, and wastewater processing and re-use.

The approach taken for this review included a study of the operating regimes for paper production, working closely with the mill operators.

The objective is to ensure that the supply of water, and opportunities for recycling or re-using, matches as closely as possible the operator’s requirements, whilst allowing a cost-effective solution.

For this scheme a modular reverse osmosis plant has been proposed.

Options investigated for the best, most suitable technology, included a high efficiency system which can achieve up to 95% return on feed water.

A number of options have been identified for re-using water on site, whilst at the same time the use of on-site sources would be maximised, to reduce demand for the external water supply.

mid kent water is currently in discussion with a number of other customers and potential customers where it has been recognised that our services can lead to a cost effective solution to water treatment needs, often using packaged water treatment plant.
